About

PostgreSQL Development Conference, aka "PGConf.dev", is where users, developers, and community organizers come together to focus on PostgreSQL development and community growth.

PGConf.dev is the successor of PGCon, and focuses on creating a fun and constructive environment for PostgreSQL contributors to meet, collaborate, and learn from each other.

PGConf.dev is made possible by the generous support of our sponsors, the amazing content from our speakers, the volunteers who help to organize and run the event, and the participation of the PostgreSQL contributor community.

Event Origins: PGCon

From 2007 to 2023, Dan Langille worked tirelessly organise an event for PostgreSQL contributors to meet, socialise and collaborate. Running a conference is a big commitment in time and energy, and Dan was ready to extend the efforts of running a development-focused conference to the greater community.

PGConf.dev respects the legacy of PGCon and takes this responsibility seriously. PGConf.dev has a large focus on PostgreSQL development topics, such as deep, technical discussions on upcoming PostgreSQL features, an "unconference" to discuss "wicked hard" problems, and community building topics, we've learned a lot from many years of PGCon and are incorporating many of its successful features.

With the importance of PGCon to the PostgreSQL community, we're happy to have Dan as one of the organisers of PGConf.dev, and we're looking forward to seeing you in Vancouver in 2024!
